Staff longevity is a hallmark of Lakeshore Woods and Randall Residence. Our team of hard-working, compassionate caregivers and support staff take pride in the loving care provided to our residents. It’s a legacy that started long ago when Mary Barss first started Barss Residential Care, now known as Lakeshore Woods.

As the senior living industry evolves and grows, the Lakeshore Woods team continues to set the standard for quality care in St. Clair County. Listening to and acting on the needs and concerns of residents, families and staff is our mission.

Gladys Powell

Receptionist

Since 2011 Gladys has been one of the first smiling faces that greet you at Lakeshore Woods. Her ability to make residents and their families feel comfortable and confident is a blessing to all. Before working at Lakeshore Woods, Gladys did catering. Now she enjoys cooking on a smaller scale (if you can call feeding 18 grandchildren small).

Dining Services

For 20+ years Scott has made a daily difference in the lives of residents at Lakeshore Woods. His desire is to make food a highlight of each day. When he’s not cooking he enjoys remodeling old homes, gardening and volunteering.

Rob McDaniel, RN

Health & Wellness Director

Since 2011, the residents and families at Lakeshore Woods are reassured knowing that Rob is there to oversee their medical needs. One the best parts of the job for Rob is seeing the residents smile and knowing that he is making a difference in their lives and their families lives. When not at Lakeshore Woods, you can find Rob coaching high school varsity football, track, and girls basketball.

Katie Neaton, CTRS, ATRIC

Life Enrichment Coordinator

If it’s something fun at Lakeshore Woods, Katie was most likely involved with it. As a Recreational Therapist and Life Enrichment Coordinator it’s her job (and her joy) to provide opportunities for the residents to express themselves and have FUN. Katie loves kayaking, gardening and outdoor adventures. But what she loves most is being a mom to her young son.

Ted Barss

Executive Director

Since 1993, Ted has been responsible for the daily operations at Lakeshore Woods. His first career was as a dentist in the US Navy and then as a professor at Indiana University. An injury lead to a career change and Lakeshore Woods has been blessed by his talents ever since. Eli, a rescued lab mix, is a bonus employee that comes to work with Ted each day. He takes his job of greeting everyone with a wagging tail very seriously.

Tracy Lepak

Resident Services Coordinator

Tracy is responsible for many of the “back office” duties at Lakeshore Woods. But it’s the time she spends with the residents, their families and her co-workers that she enjoys the best. She’s also known for her skills in fishing. In 2013 she won a trip to Alaska from Salmon Stakes. However, it’s her newest adventure that she loves best, motherhood.

Vicki Fulton

Business Office Coordinator

Remarkable is one of many words that describe Vicki. As Business Office Coordinator, she helps to alleviate any concerns that the residents or her co-workers may have. Her goal is to have all conversations end with a smile. When not gardening and grilling, Vicki loves spending time at her cabin “up north”.

The Wiker Award

The Wiker Service Award was created in the memory of long-time White Oaks employee, Dottie Wiker. Wiker worked for Randall Residence for 25 years and was known for her attention to resident details, and a constant smile. Employees from all eight of the Randall Residences (Michigan, Ohio, and Illinois) are eligible to be nominated for the award. A trophy with the winner's name will remain on display at the winning residence for a year. Anyone may submit a Nomination Form.
