Staff longevity is a hallmark of Villa at the Lake community. We build a team of hard workers who take pride in the loving care given to our residents. As the senior care industry has changed, the Villa at the Lake team has stayed on the cutting edge and raised the bar in quality of care issues. Listening to and acting on the needs and concerns of residents and staff is our mission.
The Wiker Service Award was created in 2009 in the memory of long-time White Oaks employee, Dottie Wiker. Wiker worked for Randall Residence for 25 years and was known for her attention to resident details, and a constant smile. Employees from all six of the Randall Residences (Michigan and Ohio) are eligible to be nominated for the award. A trophy with the winner's name will remain on display at the winning residence for a year. Anyone may submit a Nomination Form. Follow this link to download the form and find out more about the Wiker Award.

“I love working with the residents. Cooking is my passion and I enjoy making things for the residents. When they try new things they give great feed back. Seeing the residents each day is just great!”

“I really like my job because I get to interact with the residents. I have made a lot of friends here.”

“Seeing a resident gain confidence in learning how to do something new like bowling on the Wii, and watching them grow and interact while baking, which they haven’t done in years, is why I work at the Villa.”

“I love the residents. I love taking care of them. Everyone here is focused on taking care of the residents. It is so satisfying. They appreciate what you do for them that they can’t do for themselves any more. I work with residents with dementia and you learn to read their body language to help meet their individual needs. You get a lot of love from them and really bond with them.”
